The directors of Murchison Metals have announced a recommended merger of Murchison and Midwest Corp by way of a Murchison scheme of arrangement. This will create a major new iron ore group based in Western Australia’s mid-west. Murchison says there is “compelling logic to create major value uplift for shareholders of both companies. [It is a]unique time and place opportunity to capture value from customer demand and global corporate interest.” This is an opportunity for co-ordinated and efficient development of the mid-west iron ore province and further underpins development of port and rail infrastructure.
