REMA TIP TOP to carry out conveyor maintenance at Rio Tinto Pilbara sites

Posted on 27 Jun 2025

REMA TIP TOP has secured what it says is a significant conveyor maintenance contract with Rio Tinto, covering five key inland mine sites across Western Australia.

The multi-year agreement represents a major step in strengthening REMA TIP TOP’s presence in the Western Australia conveyor sector and builds a new strategic relationship with one of the world’s largest mining companies, it added.

The awarded sites are part of Rio Tinto’s core iron ore network in the Pilbara, and the contract will see REMA TIP TOP deliver planned and breakdown conveyor maintenance services, leveraging its field crews, technical systems and growing regional support infrastructure.

WA Services Manager, Stephanie Locke, said: “We’re proud to begin this partnership with Rio Tinto. It validates the hard work we’ve put into building capability across inland WA and represents a strong foundation for long-term collaboration.”

REMA TIP TOP has mobilised experienced conveyor maintenance teams backed by a dedicated logistics network, specialised tooling and scalable support from its regional hubs. The company’s ability to rapidly respond to site requirements is underpinned by a strong operational model developed specifically for remote mining environments, it says.

Operations Manager – Services, Chris Roach, added: “We’ve been deliberate in investing in our people, training systems and support infrastructure to be ready for this level of engagement. Partnering with Rio Tinto across these five sites is a significant endorsement of where we’re headed.”

REMA TIP TOP’s internal RTO and global skills pipeline ensure all technicians are site-ready, safety-focused and compliant with Rio Tinto’s standards from day one, according to the company.

As the contract rolls out, REMA TIP TOP says it will continue to build on this foundation, with further investment committed to safety performance, training and long-term service consistency across Rio Tinto’s inland operations.
