Anglo American, one of the largest copper producers in Chile, has selected Intergraph^® SmartPlant^® Foundation to support the information management handover process for its Los Bronces expansion project (IM, April 2011, pp14-19), which is expected to increase production capacity to an average of 400,000 t/y of fine copper. Anglo American joins hundreds of companies that have implemented SmartPlant Foundation, an information management solution. Anglo American sought to optimiase its present project/plant information management systems handover strategy to reduce risks in all areas of its business.
