G4S has developed a multi-functional software platform designed for both security personnel on the ground and those overseeing them, called SecureTrax. The technology incorporates three different functions to enhance the safety and efficiency of its employees; SeureTrax PDA, Command Centre, and the Business Intelligence Portal.
SecureTrax PDA enables software to be used by security personnel on patrol on smart phones with both voice and data communications. They are able to capture information whilst on partrol and provide real time alerts to both supervisors and customers. The software incorporates other functions such as bar code scanning and GPS tracking as well as incident reporting and guard post check in/check ou facility.
The Command Centre function on the SecureTrax where all that data from the PDA device is relayed, allowing informed data for onsite incidents. The technology also enables supervisors to ensure patrols are being carried out efficiently and within defined parameters.
The Business Intelligence Portal is a dashboard of information generated by the software which provides transparency of the security operations at a given mining site. With access to a range of management information such as compliance measures, GPS locators and monitoring of payroll corrections, incident data and invoicing information.
