Using equiment simulators to drive value through operator optimisation

Immersive Technologies reports continuing the recent success of it Operator Optimisation User Group Forum in North America with an event in Western Australia for the Africa and Asia-Pacific region. Held at the Novotel Langley Perth hotel, October 14-16, the three day event saw a diverse group of Immersive Technologies customers come together from companies across the African and Asian Pacific region to gain additional insights and techniques to increase their understanding of simulation training. The event focussed on improving simulator effectiveness, and training programs that deliver safer and more productive equipment operators in the field.

The Perth event followed the recent Americas User Group held in June 2009, which saw record numbers of customers attending from its extensive customer base across North and South America.

Delegates attending the Perth forum heard presentations from customers including Equinox Minerals (Africa), Newmont Boddington Gold Mine (Australia), Lihir Gold and Morobe Mining Joint Venture (PNG), HWE Mining (Australia) and Peabody (USA, together with a range of presentations and hands-on workshops conducted by Immersive Technologies.

Chief Executive Officer of Immersive Technologies Peter Salfinger said, “It is great to see our global customer base continuing to increase their levels of simulation usage to achieve substantial increases in safety and profitability. These forums provide another opportunity for Immersive Technologies to work closely with its customers in order to build on our joint success.”

Customers were able to try the latest product offerings from Immersive Technologies, including new Conversion Kitr machine modules and the Light Vehicle Simulator (LVS), together with a range of ongoing software enhancements.
