New Zealand Trade and Enterprise will lead a delegation of 17 companies across the Tasman to showcase the strength and breadth of New Zealand’s mining related capabilities at the Asia Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) 2007 in Sydney, September 4 – 7.

According to Tim Green, Sydney Trade Commissioner at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, New Zealand is a logical partner for Australian mining firms. “The mining boom has resulted in the Australian industry becoming stretched for capacity.  New Zealand can offer that additional resources and is right on Australia’s doorstep – delivering in timeframes and at costs comparable to Australian suppliers. New Zealand offers Australia niche capability from a familiar partner – providing technical expertise that really understands Australia’s needs.

“The New Zealand stand at AIMEX will demonstrate the broad range of
multi-disciplined engineering capabilities New Zealand has to offer – from heavy machinery equipment to the latest in 3D technology training tools and long distance point-to-point radio,” said Green.

Some highlights from the New Zealand delegation to AIMEX include:

• A hydraulically driven vehicle by Hole Solutions, which steps along pipes and removes hard materials without the need of water
• Interactive 3D technology training tools by Marops for understanding complex three-dimensional spaces or dangerous systems
• Loading productivity solutions for difficult environments by Loadrite
• Rocktec’s heavy duty apron feeders, jaw crushers and other specialist equipment which has been recently used in major WA and SA mining projects
• Innovative long distance point-to-point radio systems by 4RF Communications connecting remote locations more than 100km apart using sub 3 GHz frequencies.
