Dr Reinhold Festge, Managing Partner of Haver & Boecker in Oelde, Germany, has been elected as the new president of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) at a gathering of its members in Stuttgart last month. He succeeds Dr Thomas Lindner of the Groz-Beckert who served as president of the VDMA since 2010. Since 1987 Festge has been the Managing Partner of Haver & Boecker, which was founded in 1887 and currently employs over 2,700 workers worldwide. In 2012 the group had a sales turnover of €402 million euros. The company’s product range is extensive, with mineral processing technology being an important part.
After completing his medical school studies Festge majored in Business Administration and then became Managing Director of Haver + Beumer Latinoamericana in Brazil. From 1985 to 1987 he served as Managing Director of Haver Filling Systems in the USA.
