Reed Exhibitions has officially launched AIMEX 2011 – an Asia-Pacific mining exhibition – to be held at Sydney’s Olympic Park from September 6-9 next year. Held every four years, it is now in its fourth decade. Taking up 40,000 m2 of space at Olympic Park, AIMEX 2011 will be held in conjunction with a number of related events in Sydney that week, ensuring the city is a “must-visit” destination for those in the mining industry, from around Australia, the Asia-Pacific region, and further afield, said Soren Norgaard AIMEX Exhibition Manager with organiser Reed Exhibitions.“In 2007, AIMEX had over 500 exhibitors, and attracted more than 12,000 visitors – continuing a trend of solid visitor growth,” he said. “With the global resources sector bouncing back strongly following the GFC [Global Financial Crisis], we expect an even better response from exhibitors and visitors for the 2011 edition. Already we have had an excellent response from exhibitors at AIMEX 2011, with serious commitments from most of our major exhibitors from the last event,” said Norgaard. “The timing of AIMEX 2011 will be perfectly placed for suppliers of goods and services to the resources sector to take advantage of the rebound in mining activity and commodities prices.”
Norgaard said the show would again have a major international presence, with pavilions from the USA, China, India, South Africa, Canada, Germany, Chile, Poland and the UK. “Mining products and services suppliers from these countries see an event such as AIMEX as an ideal opportunity to promote themselves to one of the world’s major mining markets, and one that is undergoing sustained expansion and on-going demand for its commodities. We are also developing plans to cement AIMEX as a major destination event in Sydney, and the major mining event for the southern hemisphere in 2011.
“These plans include an AIMEX mining conference, plus we are working closely with key industry organisations who are keen to run their own events, seminars and conferences in Sydney during AIMEX week. AIMEX week in Sydney will be a unique opportunity for Australian and international suppliers of mining technology, equipment and services to get together with mining industry buyers and specifiers from throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
“Our integrated range of related events will mean it’s a once-in-four years chance to explore mutually beneficial business opportunities, exchange technical information and network in an interactive business environment.” [email protected]
