Bateman Engineering has made two appointments to its senior executive team: Tom Fraser as Chief Business Development Officer, and Mike Benfield as Chief Financial Officer. Fraser will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating the strategic business development initiatives throughout the Bateman Engineering Group. He joins Bateman Engineering from the international engineering and contracting group, Murray & Roberts, where he was Group Brand Executive and played a major role in the branding process as a critical component of rebuilding Murray & Roberts (including some 30 operating companies internationally) to the high performing company it is today.
Benfield joined Bateman Engineering in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer of the Group’s Mineral Recovery division. He previously held positions that included Chief Financial Officer of Norse Air, where he facilitated its listing on AIM, and Finance Executive for Ster Kinekor, where he was involved in developing and implementing strategies around new business initiatives.
Bateman Engineering’s Executive Chairman, John Ferreira: “These appointments considerably strengthen our executive and business development teams. Tom’s demonstrated marketing and brand management acumen positions us well to take full advantage of the upswing in our market which is already showing signs of revival. Mike brings to his new role a strong financial background combined with an in-depth knowledge of the company.”
