ChinaCoal centralises data with InStep eDNA enterprise software

InStep Software says it continues to expand its international presence with the announcement of a new agreement to provide China National Coal Group Corp (ChinaCoal) with a license for its eDNA enterprise data historian software. First the company will integrate its existing SCADA system to eDNA at their headquarters using OPC and then collect and centralise data from all mine-level production automation subsystems and real-time operational data from its coal mines located throughout China. This will provide unified storage and presentation of all production data. Real-time machinery sensor data from underground mine belts, cranes, air compressors, mechanised mining assets, tunnelling and washing equipment, among other assets, will be stored within eDNA for analysis and reporting purposes.

The eDNA installation is being completed by local partner Beijing Yunhanlongxing Tech Co (YHLX), an authorised reseller of InStep products in China. Headquartered in Beijing, YHLX provides a full range of software sales, services and support for InStep throughout China. “We are excited to work with ChinaCoal on such a significant project that will provide real-time, centralised visibility into the critical operational, performance and asset health related aspects of their business,” said John Kalanik, president of InStep Software. eDNA data historian software collects continuously streaming time series data from critical control, monitoring and smart devices and then archives this data using an advanced storage and lossless compression technology. The historian includes a suite of advanced client applications for accessing, analysing and presenting data in the desired format, including interactive display screens, trends and reports. InStep’s eDNA provides the data management foundation for implementing condition and predictive-based maintenance programs.
