Gekko looks back at 2014 business highlights

Posted on 25 Dec 2014

Gekko Systems says that 2014 has been an exciting year for its whole team, “the major highlight being formal acceptance of the Hera Processing Plant by Aurelia Metals Ltd.” Handover of the plant followed successful completion of performance trials, including a continuous 240 hour operating run, processing 9,600 t of ore, and a continuous 12 hour run at 50 t/h; equipment performance tests; plus grinding and environmental compliance tests.

Another key development was the supply to Rubicon Minerals Corporation – Phoenix Gold Project, of a complete turnkey Cyanide Detox System, designed to reduce cyanide in the plant discharge to less than 1ppm weak acid dissociable (WAD) cyanide using liquid sulphur dioxide (SO2) and oxygen generators for the detoxification process. Gekko Systems says it is a company “dedicated to improving processing outcomes for the mining industry, with a particular interest in capital-effective, low environmental footprint plants. In the past 18 years the company has been instrumental in developing and applying alternative, low-energy flowsheets using gangue rejection and pre-concentration concepts to minimise comminution.”
