Manline says it has become “the first African company to provide a full scope of transport solutions, including abnormal load transportation, project cargo, rigging and lifting, to clients in the mining sector. Drawing on the world-class capabilities and expertise of its two abnormal loads brands – Manline Mega and Manline Kumkani – Manline provides an unparalleled service offering in Southern Africa and beyond.”
Manline Mega specialises in abnormal loads and project cargo up to 85 t. Its fleet comprises 50 truck/trailer combinations in both stepdeck and lowbed configurations. Another 20 trucks will be added over the next six months.
Manline Kumkani boasts a fleet of 12 dedicated horses, 78 Goldhofer multi-axle modular trailer combinations, and four Faymonville extendable trailers. This allows Manline to customise and extend trailers to transport irregular-shaped abnormal loads of up to 900 t on public roads.
As part of the Barloworld Transport group, Manline has access to a wealth of knowledge and experience from experts in a wide range of specialist transport organisations. Later this month a new division, Barloworld Cranes, will be launched within the Barloworld Transport group. The new division will allow all member companies, including Manline, to enhance both their transport and lifting services.
Using cutting-edge, German-engineered Liebherr all-terrain cranes and Tadano truck mount cranes, Barloworld Cranes will be able to provide tailored solutions and services for mining clients and projects within the sector.
“Having recognised the growing need for a comprehensive turnkey solution within the mining sector, we can now provide a unique abnormal transport and lifting service,” says Neil Henderson, CEO of Barloworld Transport. “Clients can certainly expect to benefit from competitive pricing, improved efficiency and streamlined services delivered by one provider, which will add tremendous value in the long term.
“As the first African provider to offer such a wide range of solutions, we are confident that we can grow along with our clients and provide them with the world-class services and solutions they have come to expect,” adds Henderson. “This is in line with our vision to deliver ‘smart’ transport solutions across the continent.”
