Metso outlines value-add solutions at PERUMIN

Posted on 24 Sep 2015

The PERUMIN mining convention is taking place in Arequipa, Peru, this week from September 21-25, 2015. During the event, being attended by IM, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the latest Metso solutions for reducing operating costs and maximising production in minerals processing. “In these challenging times for mining, Metso is in a prime position to offer value-add solutions that help customers reduce costs and increase production.”

Metso gives the example of the wear-resistant Poly-Met® mill linings made of steel and rubber that have helped eliminate financial losses and downtime. “Due to their wear resistance, replacement times are even 50% longer. The new linings also decrease the weight of the grinding mill, allowing a heavier load. This means that more minerals can be processed, and production goes up. And as maintenance intervals are longer, availability of the grinding mill improves” explains Peter Hartmann, Country Manager for Metso in Peru.

At the Metso booth, PERUMIN visitors will have the possibility to learn about the whole scope of Metso’s offering for comminution, ranging from energy-efficient, heavy-duty MDR350 slurry pumps to a variety of mining applications. Metso’s service offering will also be extensively presented, featuring grinding media, for example. Metso Peru has been serving the local mining industry for 27 years. In Arequipa, Metso operates a Service Centre as well as a Technology Process and Innovation Centre. Metso’s commercial office and rubber plant are located in Lima. Metso has altogether 260 employees in Peru, “helping their mining and aggregates industry customers increase profits, improve operational efficiency and reduce risks by utilising Metso’s unique knowledge, experienced people and innovative solutions to meet new ways of growing together.”
