Bushveld vanadium among new project updates in latest IMPN

Posted on 16 Oct 2015

The latest issue of the International Mining Project News (IMPN) newsletter, published every two weeks with more news, is now available. This issue has almost 30 pages of news. For subscription details contact [email protected]. Below are just some of the projects covered, including AIM-listed junior explorer/developer Bushveld Minerals, which says it continues to make strides in realising its vanadium aspirations, leveraging its greenfields position in the South African vanadium exploration, mining and processing space. It is aiming at the establishment and consolidation of high-grade vanadium deposits on all three limbs of the Bushveld Complex, with close proximity to established logistics and processing infrastructure.

Saracen Mineral Holdings has advised that extensive technical studies on its Carosue Dam gold project in WA have confirmed that the company is firmly on track to meet the key performance targets contained in this five-year plan, while Rare Element Resources Ltd, which is advancing the Bear Lodge Critical Rare Earth Project located in northeast Wyoming, has announced preliminary results from the successful pilot plant campaign of its patent-pending, zero-discharge solvent extraction (SX) separation technology.

Canadian exploration and development company Los Andes Copper is focused on its Chile-based Vizcachitas copper-moly porphyry project, located 130 km north of Santiago. The project has a NI 43-101 compliant indicated resource of 1,038 Mt at 0.434% copper equivalent and contains an estimated 8.5 billion pounds of copper and 281 Mlb of moly. Its inferred resource stands at 318 Mt at 0.405% copper equivalent and contains an estimated 2.4 billion pounds of copper and 88 Mlb of moly using a cut off of 0.3% copper equivalent.

Hot Chili says “a cutting-edge geophysical survey has identified four more large copper porphyry targets in a highly significant breakthrough which could transform its flagship Productora project in Chile into a Tier-1 copper asset. The survey results show that these targets, which are in addition to the Alice copper porphyry deposit established at Productora late last year, are the likely sources of a +6.5 km-long copper porphyry footprint previously identified at Productora.”

Endeavour Mining Corporation has filed on SEDAR the NI43-101 independent technical report for the Ity Gold Mine, Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa with an effective date of July 31, 2015. This Technical Report includes the tabulation of the current mineral resources, mineral reserves and associated mine plans as developed by La Mancha’s independent consultants and management team.

Kibo Mining plc, the Tanzania focussed mineral exploration and development company, has announced completion of Phase 1 of the Mbeya Definitive Mining Feasibility Study (MDMFS). This is a critical work stream of the final Stage of the broader Mbeya Coal to Power Project Mining Feasibility Study.

Hudson Resources Inc has announced that the Government of Greenland, the Qeqqata Municipality and Hudson Resources have now signed the recently approved 30-year exploitation (mining) license and the Impact Benefit Agreement for the White Mountain anorthosite project.

Bayhorse Silver Inc reports that it has accessed the first stope at the Bayhorse Silver Mine, East Central Oregon, USA. American Mining and Tunneling, its underground safety operations contractor, has already stockpiled approximately 100 tons of heavily mineralised material from the stope as it continues the safety work program.
