Loesche success in sales of refurbished mills

Posted on 31 Dec 2015

Loesche GmbH has sold six coal mills for grinding coal in a power plant in Belgium which were first commissioned in 1984. Due to economic reasons the power plant which was operated by Electrabel Belgium with their head office in Brussels had been decommissioned in 2014. Loesche got the chance to repurchase at least four of these mills, type LM 20.2D and LM 19.2D.

“As usual for power plants the mills had always been kept in a perfect condition. Nevertheless, these mills will be completely refurbished and equipped with a new classifier customised for future technical specifications.” Loesche says it has always tried to get back the mills from power plants and find clients for these mills. As a reference list it can be summarised that in the last six years Loesche has refurbished and sold the following second hand mills: 4x LM 19.20D, 5x LM 17.20D, 3x LM 16/1180, 7x LM 14.20D, 2x LM 12.20D and 1x LM 9/670. All these mills are again in operation with different raw materials.

The refurbished mills together with the partially new components can be sold by Loesche with a price reduction of 50% compared to new mills. “The promoted pre-owned mills are predestined for clients who are interested in the very reliable and valuable Loesche mill technology for a unique low price level together with a reduced delivery time after consultancy with Loesche. The availability and reliability of the refurbished mills are equal to newly manufactured mills.”

The mentioned refurbished mills are not only limited to one feed material but can be used for various feed material. The disposal of the mills will be carried out according to the first come first serve principal “since the demand for Loesche second hand mills is very high.”
