Magna celebrating ten years of OTR tyre business

Posted on 23 May 2016

Magna Tyres Group recently celebrated its 10th anniversary on March 23, 2016. A decade ago, Founder and CEO Michael de Ruijter sold the first OTR tyres and since then the company has grown into a global organisation with 10 sales offices worldwide. Magna states: “Since the launch in 2006, the company has experienced an impressive year-over-year annual growth rate and continues to expand all over the world.”

The product range started with OTR tyres but over the years has been expanded with port handling, industrial, truck and this year, agricultural tyres. The upcoming period will see Magna focus on the expansion of the dealer network in Europe and the future construction of a new 24,000 m2 warehouse at the headquarters in Waalwijk, Netherlands.

Most recently Magna announced that it had renewed its contract with CEMEX to deliver OTR tyres for its mining and quarrying fleets in the UK for the next two years. “CEMEX is very satisfied about the performance of Magna Tyres because of the low cost price per hour, the relaibility of the tyres and the low amount of breakdowns. In addition the continuity of supply over the previous years was also excellent which made Magna Tyres the best tyre based on these key points.” CEMEX has 63 quarrying operations in the UK as well as a fleet of modern vessels supplying marine aggregates. The largest operation is Dove Holes in Derbyshire.
