7.2 km Agudio Flyingbelt commissioned and operating

Posted on 20 Jun 2016

A joint team from  Agudio and Lafarge Holcim have completed, in May, the performance tests of what is believed to be the longest conveyor belt suspended on ropes in the world. At the end of the performance test the system fully demonstrated its capacity to transport 1,500 t/h, with a maximum energy consumption of 1,700 kWh.

During the performance test, several “extreme” operating conditions (accelerations, shut-down, 20% overload, etc.) were simulated with no problems in terms of material stability on the belt.

Agudio says the proof of the Flyingbelt technology over long distances “opens new perspectives and new ways of designing transportation systems from quarries and mines to the production plants with reduced costs and environmental impact.”
