Tamtron has designed a new system to manage stockpiling of bulk materials in mining applications. iStock makes it possible to weigh the bucket load of a wheel loader each time and accurately. This means the operation is always in control of the exact amount of the material in stock. The control system will reduce the inventory automatically when material is loaded from stockpiles to leave the mine site. The system can monitor several end product stockpiles and keep track of all of them.

The iStock system is optional in all Tamtron scales. It is linked to Tamtron’s server and the customer is able to use it via a password. Since the service functions on-line, the customer knows the stock situation every moment.

iStock offers quite a few other benefits, as well. They include the elimination of wastage; fast and accurate bookkeeping; constant availability of material when alarm limits are installed; and the possibility to integrate the system into the customer’s own systems. It also makes the invoicing process more accurate and faster.

A related optional feature linked to Tamtron scales is an immobiliser of the wheel loader or any other vehicle where a Tamtron scale is installed. The immobiliser allows the use of the machine only by a PIN code. Without it, the machine cannot be started. The system prevents the unauthorised use of the machine and adds another benefit to the customer who can be sure that only authorised people can use the machine. The immobiliser of course prevents thefts as well.
