Weld Calc is decades of experience put down in a web-based software to help the user optimise the welding process. WeldCalc 2.0 includes recommendations for Hardox and Domex along with Weldox steels and, thanks to the easy-access user interface and many new functions, the results are even easier to calculate and apply.
WeldCalc is a high-tech software for calculation and presentation of welding recommendations. The desired mechanical properties and the different plate materials involved in the joint is input by the user. Based on this information a “tolerance box” is calculated, showing the allowed span of heat input and preheat/interpass temperature.
“With WeldCalc 2.0 the user can choose the properties most important in a given welded construction. For example, whether to prioritise optimum welding strength or optimum production efficiency,” according to Daniel Stemne, Manager of the project WeldCalc 2.0.
The new version of the well known software also allows the user to save or export the results. The next time logging in the case can be opened, edited and saved again. WeldCalc 2.0 is web based and always updated to the latest version.
“By providing our customers with a good tool for welding calculations, we help them to utilise our materials in a better way. In the end that makes us a better supplier,” says Tomas Visur, the Design Specialist involved in the project.
