micromine.bmpMicromine, a leading provider of intuitive software solutions to the mining and exploration industry, has updated its geological data management solution, Geobank (formerly known as GBIS) and its field data capture solution, Field Marshal 2011. Geobank features a range of new user benefits and improved, intuitive functionality. These include advanced configuration manager and user profiles, improvements to Sample Tracker, and a new streamlined User Interface. Enhancements have also been made to security and graphical reporting.

Geobank Development Team Leader, Leigh Shayler, said “As part of Micromine’s dedication to providing intuitive, easy-to-use software solutions, Geobank includes a new User Interface, specifically designed to enhance usability. Easy navigation is facilitated through docking and undocking tasks and improved accessibility to data has been granted through the introduction of keyboard commands. Geobank’s centralised approach to User Profiles allows management to define who has access to what information. This provides increased data control and security.

“Sample Tracker, which stores and manages data relating to the collection, preparation and analysis of samples, has been upgraded to include further functionality and enhanced usability. Accessing data is easier than ever, and significant improvements have been made to the receipt stage and charting process. An improved receipting process provides a clear indication of QA/QC errors, and enhancements to charting allow data to be displayed in a clear, more accessible manner”.

Geobank seamlessly integrates with Micromine’s 3D modelling and mine design solution, Micromine, providing users with the most up-to-date, centralised and validated data possible. Developed by specialist staff who understand the industry and can pre-empt the market’s requirements, Geobank is designed to meet the evolving needs of the mining and exploration sector, and has set the standard for intuitive geological data management solutions.

Like Geobank, Field Marshal Version 2011 includes new intuitive functionalities introduced to improve usability, saving users time and increasing their overall productivity levels. All Field Marshal files are now fully compatible with Micromine 2010, providing seamless integration. Micromine says it “is dedicated to ensuring that its five software solutions, which cover the entire mining process, are compatible and complement each other.”

Updates to Field Marshal 2011’s User Interface further enhances its ease-of-use. Field Marshal 2011 is available in Russian, with Chinese, Indonesian and Mongolian versions available soon, ensuring the solution’s relevancy to MICROMINE’s international markets.

The release of Geobank and Field Marshall 2011 coincide with Micromine’s25th anniversary. This significant milestone is reflected in the company’s refreshed corporate and product branding, released at The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention. Managing Director and Founder, Graeme Tuder, commented “For 25 years, Micromine has been committed to providing intuitive solutions which set industry standards and meet clients’ needs. The launch of Geobank and its enhanced functionality is testament to this commitment and Micromine’s extensive Research and Development (R&D) Program”.

“Micromine’s silver anniversary is the perfect opportunity to refresh the company’s image. Micromine’s refreshed branding communicates the strengths of our solution offerings, and our commitment to meeting clients’ needs throughout the entire mining process”, Tuder concludes.
