Komatsu launches Tier 4 interim articulated mining truck at Conexpo

hm300-3.jpgKomatsu America has just introduced the HM300-3 articulated dump truck (ADT) at the Conexpo show in Las Vegas.  With a flywheel horsepower of 242 kW, the HM300-3 is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D125E-6 engine and is EPA Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage 3B emission certified.  Built upon a proven Tier 3 engine platform, Komatsu stated that it believes it has “leveraged its leadership in technology and innovation to design an environmentally friendly engine that increases power while decreasing fuel consumption.”The HM300-3 features a maximum gross vehicle weight 52.23 t and can haul up to a 28.1 t payload at its maximum ground speed of 58.6 km/h. Improved operating performance, lower fuel consumption, improved operator comfort and enhanced serviceability are additional features of the HM300-3 that provide “maximum productivity and lower operating costs.” The HM300-3 is also equipped with the latest Komtrax technology, which sends machine operating information to a secure website utilising wireless technology.  Data such as daily fuel consumption, machine utilisation, operating hours, location, cautions and maintenance alerts are relayed to the web application for analysis.
