Bateman Engineered Technologies (the equipment supply division of the Bateman Group) has been awarded an order for a SAG mill to be used in the primary grinding circuit of a 9,400 t/d iron ore concentrator at CML Metals Corp in Cedar City, Utah, USA. The mill is 8.53 m in diameter, has an effective grinding length of 3.678 m and is powered by a 6.5 MW drive. It will process 380 t/h, and is designed to work in conjunction with an existing regrind ball mill to produce a particularly fine grind of the magnetite product.
A global manufacturing process is being utilised whereby various parts of the mill are being manufactured in several different countries under the supervision and stringent quality control of Bateman Engineered Technologies.
Jonathan Weber, project procurement manager of US-based Samuel Engineering which placed the order on Bateman Engineered Technologies, said that the company was preferred because of its renowned track record, competitive pricing and excellent service delivery. “Bateman Engineered Technologies has an excellent track record, which it has more than justified in this project. To date they have met all project deadlines and will no doubt meet the exceptional time frame of 11 – 12 months for completion,” says Weber.
He added that Bateman Engineered Technologies had made an effort to source the equipment for the mill from some of the best manufacturers in the world, while limiting cost, delivery time and risk.
