vpa.jpgMetso has announced that it is again to supply minerals processing equipment to long time customer, Taigang Group Lanxian Mining (TISCO), the largest stainless steel manufacturer in China. The order includes seven units of vertical plate pressure filters, wear and spare parts, as well as services related to installation, start-up, commissioning and technical supervision. The delivery is for concentrate filtering for TISCO’s Yuanjiacun iron ore processing plant in Lan County, Shanxi province.

The plant is expected to start operation in May 2012 with a daily processing capacity of 22,000 – 23,000 t of iron ore concentrate. The Yuanjiacun plant is designed to process 22 Mt / y of raw iron ore. When completed, Yuanjiacun will be the largest iron ore processing plant in China. TISCO is among the world’s largest producers of stainless steel. The pressure filter model VPA2050 is a medium pressure type operating in the pressure range of 6 – 10 bars. These filters are mainly based on the “air through-blow” dewatering concept, whereby water is displaced by air as it passes through a filter cake. Typically, they are being used to filtration of metallic minerals, industrial minerals, coal and tailings. Since 2009, Metso has provided the TISCO Yuanjiacun iron ore processing plant with key equipment including a gyratory crusher, three SAG grinding mills and four vibrating screens.
