Leica Geosystems is set to launch the next generation of its Leica Jigsaw platform – described as “the world’s most comprehensive Fleet Management, Production Optimisation and High Precision Guidance solution” at AIMEX 2011 in Sydney, Australia in September. “As the most innovative solution provider, Leica Geosystems has solutions supporting over 100 mine sites in 16 countries around the world – with over 50 deployments occurring since Leica Geosystems’ launched the first generation Jigsaw platform at AIMEX in 2007. We are excited to launch our second-generation Jigsaw platform at AIMEX 2011. This launch represents the results of a focused effort to deliver against a product roadmap that is aligned with our client’s needs and the direction of the mining sector in general. ” stated Haydn Roberts, Chief Executive Officer.
The company believes that Jigsaw goes well beyond the advanced monitoring, analysis and reporting tools which have already made Leica Geosystems “a global leader”, with Jigsaw showcasing the industry’s first fully integrated hardware and software platform. The statement said: “This second generation Jigsaw platform will seamlessly link three key levels of mining operations: fleet management and optimisation, precision guidance and the emerging autonomous solution. This all delivered on a new unified hardware platform that supports the entire range of solutions.”
“We don’t build trucks. We build technology solutions that allow mines to maximise every aspect of their operations, solutions that integrate information and control across all equipment no matter what type or which manufacturer. We are the world’s leading measurement and visualisation technology company and we are focused on delivering the most innovative solutions to the mining sector.” said Mr Roberts, adding “This Leica Jigsaw launch represents a considerable period of R&D investment by the company that leverages both the Mining division and the huge technology research capabilities of the entire group.” AIMEX visitors will be among the first in the world to see this second generation of the Leica Jigsaw product suite, which will be shown with an interactive machine and system simulation in Hall 2, Stand 1307.
