Imdex has acquired Swedish based Flexit and this follows last year’s acquisition of Reflex (also Swedish). Both Flexit and Reflex are significant global suppliers of borehole survey systems to mineral exploration and mining. Their innovative technologies offer cost saving solutions through the use of electronic instruments to deliver survey data accurately and in a timely fashion.
Also last year, between the two Swedish acquisitions, in August Imdex acquired UK-based Chardec Consultants, another leading developer and manufacturer of borehole survey equipment to the exploration, miningquarrying and construction industries globally.
Flexit is based in Vallentuna, Sweden and is particularly active in Canada, South America and Africa (www.flexit.se). Its main product range includes the SmartTool – a drillhole survey system with single and multishot capability manufactured by Chardec – and the GyroSmart – a technically advanced miniature digital survey system using MEMS gyro technology that is simple to use in both magnetic and non-magnetic environments.
These transactions consolidate Imdex’s position as the leading global supplier of technologically advanced downhole survey systems. They also strengthen Imdex’s existing skill base in research and development into new products and technologies. (www.imdex.com.au)
