We will be closing the nominations for the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame in August. The chosen nominees will be inducted at the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame gala dinner at the Hyatt Regency at Colorado Convention Center, Denver on February 25, 2019. The dinner is a key event in the SME Annual Conference week.

The current shortlist has five nominations in this category. The first is for Samuel Calvin McLanahan (1842-1928), an inventive genius whose most important inventions were the Log Washer and the Single Roll Crusher (pictured). The second is Klas-Göran Eriksson and Tage Möller, for the Metso Megaliner – “the safest mill lining system of its kind that also maximises uptime.” The third current nomination is for Manfred Freissle, inventor of the first modular synthetic screen deck system. Fourth is Dr Steve Morrell for his contributions to SAG milling. Finally, there is Washington Samuel Tyler, founder of Haver & Boecker Canada, formerly W.S. Tyler.

The last inductees were Joe Pease & Dr Bill Johnson, who were honoured for the ISAMill and the development of ultrafine grinding. http://www.im-halloffame.com/comminution-2/

There is a total of 12 categories and nominations are welcomed for all of them: Bulk Handling, Concentration, Comminution, Exploration, Environmental Management and Stewardship, Metallurgy, Mining Software, Safety, Surface Mining, Underground Development, Underground Production and Outstanding Innovator.
