Mining industry outstanding innovator

The chosen nominees will be inducted at the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame gala dinner at the Hyatt Regency at Colorado Convention Center, Denver on February 25, 2019. The dinner is a key event in the SME Annual Conference week.

The current shortlist has just two nominations in this Outstanding Innovator category. Professor Neville Plint, the Director of the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) at The University of Queensland in Australia, and A|llan Cramm, Vice President of Innovation & Development at Anaconda Mining. “He is an innovative leader and an ‘out-of-the-box’ thinker who has been at the forefront of the growth and development of our Point Rousse project (pictured),” said Dustin Angelo, President & CEO, Anaconda Mining.

The last inductee was Rick Howes, CEO at Dundee Precious Metals. He has a made a transformational contribution to the industry. His vision is that mining requires new and innovative thinking on how the entire mining asset lifecycle is managed to regain credibility in delivering the business results stakeholders expect. There is a total of 12 categories and nominations are welcomed for all of them: Bulk Handling, Concentration, Comminution, Exploration, Environmental Management and Stewardship, Metallurgy, Mining Software, Safety, Surface Mining, Underground Development, Underground Production and Outstanding Innovator.
