Over 300 customers and dealers from across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region attended the first Heavy Days event held by Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment, close to the company’s manufacturing plant and training centre at Dobris in the Czech Republic. Held over 10 days in the Lašovice Quarry near Dobris, the unique event offered customers and dealers the opportunity to try out a wide range of Doosan Heavy products and attachments including crawler and wheeled excavators, breakers, wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks (ADTs) and heavy duty telescopic handlers in almost true working conditions.
As well as the new DX380LC crawler excavator model, customers and dealers were able to put DX160LC, DX225LC, DX235LC and DX520LC crawler excavators through their paces. The wheeled excavator range also featured at the Heavy Days event, with the DX160W, DX170W and DX210W models available for use. The wheel loader range was strongly represented with the new DL420 model joined by the DL200, DL300 and DL450 loaders. Complementing these products were the popular MT31 and MT41 ADTs. Guests at the event also had their first opportunity to try out the new Doosan heavy duty telescopic handler range with
the DT70 and DT160 models.
The opportunity to operate new Doosan equipment on this multi-faceted site, ranging from driving the 40 t MT41 articulated dump truck fully laden and at full speed and using the 50 t DX520LC excavator
to work on stone in the quarry to the DL500 wheel loader being used to transport and load aggregate and the new heavy duty telescopic handlers lifting large stone blocks weighing over 12 t proved irresistible. Every day, an average of 30 different dealers and customers visited the quarry.
The event also played host to a new range of attachments currently being developed to increase the versatility of Doosan equipment. These include the new Doosan DXB100H, DXB170H and DXB260H breaker models intended for use on Doosan Heavy excavators. Doosan Pin-on quick couplers were used to allow machines to change between the DXB breakers and a growing range of buckets now on offer from Doosan. Customers also had the opportunity to test and provide feedback on the range of attachments being developed for Doosan wheel loaders. Three types of loader buckets were available: standard, heavy duty and a rock bucket, which were used for more than 80 hours in preparation and during the event, eliciting excellent feedback from participants.
A number of the customers attended the event specifically to examine and try equipment before placing orders. Among the orders placed during the event were orders for a new MT31 ADT and a new DX340LC excavator. The event allowed customers to compare different products in the range to see if Doosan could offer the best solution for their specific application.
