MACA picks up new contracts in WA at gold and nickel projects

MACA Ltd has provided an update on recent project awards exceeding A$60 million within the MACA Civil, Infrastructure and SMP business units. In civils it includes a A$12 million variation to the bulk earthworks contract with the Gruyere Joint Venture, which extends contracted works to October 2018; anda Civil Earthworks Contract constructing evaporating ponds for Western Areas Ltd at its Cosmos Nickel Project, which is expected to generate revenues of around A$5-6 million in FY19.

Elsewhere, MACA, through subsidiary MACA Interquip, has been awarded a A$6 million structural, mechanical and piping contract by Anglo Gold Ashanti at the Tropicana Gold Project in WA. The works relate to a secondary mill upgrade at the plant and will employ circa 25 employees at peak manning. The works are expected to be completed in the second half of the 2018 calendar year.
