Mann+Hummel Australia is featuring its latest diesel particulate filters and crankcase ventilation developments on Stand SP156 during AIMEX at Sydney Olympic Park, September 6-9. The company’s diesel particulate filters for off-road applications feature new electronics, which, the company says, can calculate a regeneration strategy for the application in question, thereby reducing costs. The new electronics also improved operational reliability, installation and servicing, Mann+Hummel Managing Director Martin Mühlmann said.
Depending on the machine application, the electronic system could be used just as a basic data logger to acquire temperature and pressure data or, with only a few small alterations, the data logger could be converted into a complete control system with passive or active regeneration. “This sees all connected components subject to continuous diagnosis and monitoring and a message is sent if a component has a malfunction,” Mühlmann said.
“A display with standard international symbols constantly informs the machine operator about the status of the diesel particulate filter with regard to any required servicing. This information is advantageous to operators and offers higher operational reliability and allows for better maintenance scheduling,” he said.
Mann+Hummel’s SintDOC, SintAC and SintROC diesel particulate filter systems are equipped with the new electronics.
The company’s ProVent crankcase ventilation systems will be another feature on its AIMEX stand. Directed towards the newest generation of industrial diesel engines, Mühlmann said ProVent advantages included:

- Integrated safety feature against irregularly high crankcase pressure
- Lower engine oil consumption
- Quick access to make service easy and protection against the incorrect insertion of a replacement element.
All ProVent products are suitable for use with open or closed crankcase ventilation.
