Mobile apps for inspection administration and fuel maintenance

Posted on 4 Oct 2018

Vector Fleet Management has developed new, customized mobile apps to facilitate and improve its internal tracking systems. The apps address two core areas of business operations: fleet inspections and fuel operations. Timely workflow is vital to success in fleet maintenance and the fast Mobile Inspection System lets fleet technicians and inspectors improve data entry, download and upload synch times, locate records and add attachments (like high-resolution photographs) to inspection documents via an intuitive, custom-designed user interface.

Dynamic, easy-to-read graphics guide inspectors as they follow procedures to track, record and address the condition of the brake system, engine compartment, wheels and tyres, power steering, coolant as well as interior and exterior physical appearance. The app not only facilitates the inspection process, but it also helps to improve safety by identifying any problems early.

Fuel technicians benefit from the Mobile Fuel System that enhances tracking. Now fuel technicians can use the vigorous, user-friendly app to scan barcodes, document fuel transactions and take real-time, high-resolution photos to record road conditions and any damages to equipment.

The development of both mobile applications uses a holistic approach to fleet management to increase functionality of tracking systems. Not only do the mobile apps improve workflow and aid in onsite problem solving and work management for employees on the road, but they are also designed to quickly send reliable data to internal managers at corporate headquarters. Now these managers are better able to respond to the daily, variable conditions that can impact the delivery chain.
