FLSmidth has launched a downtime analysis solution designed to increase plant uptime by identifying the causes of plant and equipment failures.
“Unplanned downtime costs businesses billions of dollars each year globally. For cement and mining customers, the impact of plant and equipment failures can be enormous: production stoppages and reduced productivity. That’s why FLSmidth have developed ECS/UptimeGo, a downtime analysis solution to help plant staff identify the issues that interrupt the operation, and prevent unwanted future downtime.”
Real-time dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) enable the measurement of the real impact of machine failures interrupting the production. In addition, ECS/UptimeGo provides Pareto charts and the ability to monitor maintenance and reliability KPIs to give operators the fullest possible picture of a downtime event and its causes. “Having this information is vital in correcting the causes of stoppages, increasing asset utilisation and return on assets.”
Mikael Lindholm, FLSmidth Chief Digital Officer, says: “ECS/UptimeGo shows how FLSmidth uses digital technologies and practical experience to further enhance the productivity of cement and mining customers.”
ECS/UptimeGo can be integrated with existing process control systems and can be paired with FLSmidth ECS/ControlCenter for an automated process to gather all production stoppages. It also features a user-friendly graphic interface that allows operators to have all the information they need to fully document and analyse stoppages.
“We’ve designed ECS/UptimeGo with users in mind. This software is intuitive to use and will be quickly mastered by users,” says King Becerra, FLSmidth Global Product Line Manager, Digitalization. By allowing businesses to significantly reduce the frequency of unplanned downtime, ECS/UptimeGo delivers a productivity gain to operations that will cover for the cost of the software many times over.
