Tampere, Finland-based Tamtron recently launched the Scalex Dumper – a portable dumper truck axle scale for heavy-duty mining trucks. The company says it “provides your mining site with the weighing system you need to accurately calibrate your vehicle’s own weighing system, easily in portable format.”
The Scalex Dumper weighing system is designed to endure the harsh conditions experienced on mining sites. The series of portable dumper truck axle scales are meant to be used on ground-based foundations, allowing mine sites to transport the scale directly to their haulage assets. Scalex Dumper weighing systems Tamtron says are easy to install and their low-profile design minimises overall setup costs.
The Scalex Dumper – portable dumper truck axle scale is typically designed for a maximum axle load from 200 t up to 800 t. Each systems’ capacity will be customised according to the customer’s needs. The touch screen weight indicator and printer are conveniently included in a briefcase designed for them. The instrument allows both static and dynamic weighing. Tamtron delivers all Scalex Dumper scales as pre-calibrated, so all the mine needs to do is to lay the weighing pads on the foundations and switch on the touch screen weight indicator.
The system uses OIML approved weighing load cells with pad dimensions typically 2 m x 2.4 m (can also be customised). The pads are with sealed junction boxes and the weight of the pad is approximately 5-6 t depending on the design. They use a durable steel construction with lifting eyes for easy transport and installation as well as armoured cables. Two pads included as they are sold in pairs.
Scalex Dumper has a digital weight indicator with a big touch screen display with multiple points of support. It allows the visualisation of all weighing data, simplifying the user operations. It is fitted with three serial ports, has transmission protocols for data communication, with completely configurable printouts, integrated alibi memory, and port for connection to barcode/badge reader. It is CE marked and OIML approved (OIML R-76/EN 45501).
