Barkom Group Drilling Rigs and Equipment was founded in Ankara, Turkey in 1987. The already globally active company has started to manufacture exploration diamond drilling rigs under his own Bulldrill® brand as a result it says of industry experience gained over the years and as a result of great efforts that it has put into R&D studies with a team all of whom are specialised in their field.
With these studies the company has also been granted by the relevant government bodies the capacity of becoming an official R&D centre which has helped to expand these drilling studies even further. In the R&D centre, the team Barkom says “follows the latest technology from around the globe, in particular giving substantial importance to improved safety while keeping productivity levels at high. We give importance to new product designs and innovations, predicting what is next and being a pioneer based on market needs.”

Its latest drill rig innovation is the BD2000S surface diamond core drill rig. The Bulldrill® BD2000S is reliable from both a safety and performance point of view, proven in applied mechanical tests in Barkom Group’s R&D Centre. It retrieves large core samples thanks to load sensitive tandem pumps, variable displacement hydraulic motor and powerful transmission capable of producing over 9,000 Nm of torque while the special gear group array provides fast penetration rates by the operation of the rotary unit. In this way the BD2000S surface drill rig strikes the perfect balance between productivity and efficiency. The drill rig has been tested in 3D structural analysis and simulation program applications by selecting the highest quality and durable steel raw materials for the chassis construction and machining parts. The BD2000S drill rig Barkom says is designed to meet the requirements of harsh environmental conditions anywhere in the world.
The Bulldrill® BD2000S is equipped with a 4-gear drive rotation unit that provides the necessary torque and rpm speed ranges for coring, with a drilling depth capacity of 2,000 m when drilling N size holes. As the drill rig comes with a crawler, it can easily be driven to the drilling site. All drilling functions are performed using an ergonomic and user-friendly control panel which also displays all the drilling parameters necessary to ensure productive drilling.
The BD2000S is also designed for BWL (2,300 m) and PWL (800 m) size coring, making it the most powerful rig in its class. “The BD2000S just drills on and on without interruption, minimising service requirements.” All hydraulic components that translate to high performance on the BD2000S drilling rig were carefully selected including brands like Parker, Kawasaki, Rexroth, Danfoss, HANSA FLEX, whose quality is recognised around the world

The BD2000S has the widest capacity in the Bulldrill® drilling rigs range and is also the easiest rig to operate. It has a new buttress and mast system, which further increases the high productivity. The mast poles are very durable, and their capacity is more than enough to carry the entire weight of the drilling rope with a BRADEN brand winch carrying capacity 18 t. The newly designed straight wrapped wireline winch wraps the rope smoothly along the width of the drum.
“The working environment around the rig has also been carefully evaluated during development. All important components are positioned so that they are easily accessible during maintenance. To help control carbon emissions, the rig has a modern Tier 3 Cummins QSL 8.9 engine. The BD2000S rig is ideal for deep hole drilling and despite its strength, the rig is compact and can be easily used in the field. The PQ chuck holder and PQ rod holder are field tested and designed to offer performance and reliability to conquer even the hardest projects. The open-faced mast features a common centre line through the chuck and feed cylinders, decreasing wear on components. Simple hydraulics and structural design make the drill easy to operate and maintain.
Finally, the BD2000S rig can be manufactured with customisation according to different work conditions including changing the capacity; hydraulic systems and mechanical elements.
