On August 23, CITIC Heavy Industries Co Ltd and Huawei Technologies Co Ltd signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in Shenzhen, officially becoming strategic partners. The two sides “will seize the strategic opportunities of digitalisation, networking and intelligence, give full play to the advantages of their respective industries and form synergies.”
They added: “We are committed to breakthroughs in the core technology and equipment of intelligent mining and intelligent manufacturing, creating integrated solutions to meet customer needs, and jointly build ‘less human’ and ‘unmanned’ intelligent mines to promote the industry’s high-quality development. CITIC Heavy Industries Party Secretary & Chairman Yu Zhangfa and Huawei Senior Vice President and Coal Mining Corps Chairman Zou Zhilei attended the signing ceremony. CITIC Heavy Industries Deputy General Manager Hao Bing and Huawei Coal Mine Corps Solutions President Guo Zhenxing on behalf of the two sides signed the agreement.
According to the agreement, CITIC Heavy Industries “will give full play to high-end equipment technology, manufacturing, market, service and other advantages, focusing on the ‘core manufacturing + integrated services’ business model” while Huawei will leverage its expertise in 5G connectivity, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, cloud computing and other fields to carry out comprehensive cooperation projects and jointly construct a new Mine Intelligence Joint Innovation Center to create integrated solutions for intelligent mines and carry out multi-field and in-depth cooperation in the construction of intelligent mines.
At present, CITIC Heavy Industries has deployed at its mate site in Luoyang a 5G enterprise private network and modular machine room based on Huawei 5G technology and equipment. It is promoting innovative applications such as 5G plus intelligent manufacturing, 5G plus remote operation and maintenance and big data platforms.
The partners added: “Intelligent coal mining is a national energy strategy. In the future, the two sides will jointly develop and tackle key problems through joint research and development. We will accelerate the digital transformation of the coal industry, achieve breakthroughs with the key core technologies and equipment of coal mine intelligence, promote intelligent analysis and decision-making based on big data, realise the inherent safety of coal production, and jointly create smart coal mine demonstrations to form a systematic solution of mine intelligence.”
At the same time, CITIC Heavy Industries also says it is committed to promote the application of intelligent mining solutions in non-coal mines, such as iron ore, gold ore, copper mine, limestone/aggregate and other related industries.
