FAST2 Mine is a leading provider of mining control and fleet management systems with its base in Santa Cruz do Sul in Brazil, and its CEO Eder Griebeler recently told IM it is expanding its operations globally after doubling in size each year for the last five years and successfully implementing the system at over 40 mines in Brazil. The FAST2 Mine system is managing equipment and production at world-scale operations including mines owned by Kinross, Norsk Hydro, Atlantic Nickel, Aura Minerals, Great Panther, Mineração Caraíba, Imerys and Itaminas amongst others. Its most recent cited customer is Tombador Iron, an Australian mining company with a mine located near Sobradinho Lake and the city of Sento-Sé, in the state of Bahia.
Griebeler comments: “The system is a complete solution for mining control and fleet management – it collects operational cycle information autonomously, without operator interaction, and is focused on user experience to ensure the easy and robust collection of data, furthermore it leverages this data with powerful BI and reporting to drive continuous improvement in an operation.”
The system allows real-time fleet management, dispatch (including dynamic allocation), operational KPI control, grade and stockpile control, contractor and operational cost management, maintenance scheduling, fuel management and short interval control. It can be used for both open cut and underground mine control plus haulage and monitoring of drill and blast activities. It also uses an agnostic equipment telemetry interface.
Griebeler says the FAST2 Mine strategic expansion plan is to achieve deployment at 300 mining operations around the globe by 2026. This year, FAST2 Mine is investing heavily in its global presence across four strategic locations: North America, South America, EMEA, and a key focus in Australia. “Fast2 Mine has established a partnership agreement with Mining Plus to expand its operations globally with 150+ mining professionals strategically located throughout these target regions. With this partnership, FAST2 Mine and Mining Plus are expecting to bring a robust innovation for the international mining industry, as well as having both fast and sustainable growth.”
