Conveyor Components launches TPS model to tackle shuttle conveyor operation

Conveyor Components Company has released a new model TPS “Tripper Position Switch” designed to indicate when the tripper of a shuttle conveyor is located on a multiple discharge point, “tripping” or activating the dumper when signalled.

This unit is, the company says, rugged and durable for adverse field conditions and is commonly used in the coal and metal & non-metal mining industries.

The company said: “This device is a heavy-duty style control with two SP/DT micro switches rated for 20 amps at 120 VAC, 240 VAC, or 480 VAC.”

The switch actuation is bi-directional, and the roller orientation is field adjustable with a simple hex bolt adjustment. The white acetyl roller is bi-directional, measures 3 inches (76 mm) in diameter by 1-5/8 inch (42 mm) wide and will withstand pressure, wear and chemical attack, Conveyor Components Company says.

The housing is a rugged cast aluminum enclosure rated for NEMA 4 weatherproof, or NEMA 7/9 explosion proof.

Conveyor Components addresses bucket elevator conveyor belt alignment

Conveyor Components Company’s model VA and VA-X bucket elevator belt alignment control tools are helping operators stay on top of potential issues and prevent damage in the bulk handling sector, the company says.

The model VA and VA-X have a rugged, heavy-duty cast aluminum housing (with a specially designed non-accumulating pocket), with both designed to indicate when the head or boot section of a bucket elevator drifts too far out of alignment.

This control device has a sequential two-pole double-break microswitch rated for 20 amps at 120 VAC, 240 VAC, or 480 VAC.

The switch actuation and linkage arms are field-adjustable with a simple 3/32 in (2.4 mm) hex wrench adjustment. The metal roller is sturdy and bi-directional, and designed to survive in difficult environments, according to the company.

The model VA microswitch is rated for NEMA 4 weatherproof, or NEMA 7/9 explosion proof (model VA-X). Epoxy powder coating or polyester powder coating is available as an option, the company concluded.

Conveyor Components Company launches Ready Gate, Self-Closing Safety Gate

The Conveyor Components Company has come up with an adjustable self-closing gate for guardrails that meets the current requirements of major OSHA and ANSI Standards.

These guidelines – specifically OSHA 1910 Subpart D as well as ANSI-A1264.1-2017 – require any surface above 48 in (1,219 mm) to be guarded by guardrail systems, with any opening in the guardrail system requiring protection by an offset rail or self-closing safety gate.

The Model RG (Ready Gate) is an adjustable self-closing safety gate that is available in two sizes, to protect 16-26 in or 24-40 in guardrail openings. The gate can easily be field mounted as left-opening or right-opening, and the included mounting brackets are adaptable to round or square guardrails between 1 in to 2 in in diameter, the Conveyor Components Company says.

The core of the Model RG (Ready Gate) is a stainless steel spring that resists rust while also ensuring the gate closes fully and automatically. The gate standard construction is a mild steel/carbon steel frame with a UV resistant red colour polyester powder top coating and a zinc-rich primer underneath. It is also available in safety yellow and bright orange as colour options.

A strike plate, meanwhile, adds additional strength to the gate and a noise dampening foam pad reduces loud noise when the gate closes.

Conveyor Components tackles belt alignment with latest control solution

Conveyor Components Company has added a Tilt Action (TA) belt alignment control solution to its offering for use on most belt conveying systems and wastewater filter presses.

The model TA is available in weatherproof or explosion-proof enclosures, with 120 VAC or 240 VAC input power rated microswitches, the company said.

This belt alignment control has dry, unpowered 20 amp SP/DT microswitches, or 15 amp DP/DT microswitches, to allow control of four separate output functions. The unit is bi-directional, able to operate in either direction and the red-coloured roller is highly visible from a distance.

The trip points are field-settable with a simple set screw adjustment on the cam, while the housing is cast aluminum, with optional epoxy coating available for corrosive environments.
