Mining Plus to optimise waste dump design with DumpSolver collaboration

Mining Plus has announced a new collaboration with DumpSolver, a software solution for waste landform design optimisation, that, it says, enables the mining services provider to enhance its offering by optimising waste dump design and location.

This enhanced offer will benefit Mining Plus clients during both project operation and closure phases, according to the company.

DumpSolver’s software has already been used on over 350 projects, delivering substantial cost savings estimated at A$500 million ($326 million) annually across small and large mines. Its unique technology significantly reduces operational costs while simultaneously improving environmental outcomes, Mining Plus states.

Case studies, which includes work for major international mining companies such as Anglo American, Rio Tinto and BHP, have consistently reduced waste haulage costs by more than A$0.05 per cubic metre of waste rock and even as high as A$0.30 per cubic metre, DumpSolver says. Total savings rapidly climb to tens of millions of dollars. And that is before the associated environmental benefits are included.

It said: “Our global team of consultants will now have access to DumpSolver’s proprietary software technology, empowering us to determine the optimal placement, design and final characteristics of your mine’s waste landforms.”
