VersaDrill to launch new flexible, high torque GT8 drill at PDAC

VersaDrill will make the official launch of the new VersaDrill GT8 at the forthcoming PDAC in Toronto from March 6-9. The GT8 is described as “a compact and sturdy diamond drill strong enough to perform mining drilling, yet versatile enough to be used in geotechnical applications.”

The drill has a best-in-class torque with maximum speed combo; as well as being best-in-class for depth in NWL core, according to VersaDrill; as well as having “reliable and simple components for affordable maintenance and continued operations under all conditions.” It has a max rotation speed of 975 rpm; and torque at max rotation speed of 650 Nm, with max torque at 11,212 Nm and speed at max torque of 55 rpm. The drilling capacity with NWL drill rod is 600 m. the GT8 weighs in at 8,165 kg with a rig height of 2.8 m. Speed and torque based on a 160 cc variable hydraulic motor at 4,000 psi (275 bar).
