Outotec exports mineral processing technology to Russia

Finland-headquartered Outotec has won an order from a Russian mining company to supply minerals processing technology and equipment for a concentrator plant.

While there were few details in the press release, an Outotec spokesperson said the plant would be concentrating base metals.

Outotec said the contract value booked in the company’s June quarter order intake is approximately €24 million, with the equipment delivered as a natural part of the already started project.

Kimmo Kontola, head of Outotec’s Minerals Processing business said the customer was looking to improve the environmental performance of its operation with this order.

“Outotec’s dewatering, flotation, automation and analyser solutions are designed for efficient and environmentally sound concentrate production. In addition, the included extensive advisory service package ensures fast ramp-up and performance of the concentrator plant,” he said.

Earlier this month, Outotec was awarded a contract for the delivery of flotation cells and automation for a base metal concentrator in Kazakhstan, booking €15 million for the order.
