Symboticware partners with Ramjack Technology Solutions to expand global reach

Symboticware’s vehicle sensor data telemetry and analytics solutions is likely to receive a bigger global audience after the IoT specialist signed a reseller agreement with Ramjack Technology Solutions.

Ramjack will be a Value Added Reseller in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and parts of Latin America, according to the company. Ramjack is a specialised, systems integrator dedicated to operations technology for the mining industry.

Symboticware, meanwhile, focuses on standardised information-based technology to enhance productivity, sustainability, profitability and safety through real-time data management solutions.

“Through partnerships with best-of-breed, global technology manufacturers and custom-designed service offerings, they provide mining customers with technology solutions that guarantee improvements in safety, productivity and effectiveness,” Symboticware said of Ramjack.

“Using a pragmatic combination of advanced technology products and services – purpose-built for the harsh mining environment – Ramjack bridges the critical gap between original technology manufacturers and mine operations, enabling mines to realise the full potential their technology promised.”

Kirk Petroski, President & CEO Symboticware Inc, said partnering with Ramjack as a value added reseller extends the company’s global reach, and delivers capabilities for advancements in industrial IoT and artificial intelligence into mining corridors “where a significant positive impact on mobile asset safety, visibility and efficiency can be realised”.

Mike Jackson, President & CEO of Ramjack Technology Solutions, said: “We’re very excited about our partnership with Symboticware. Mines in the regions that Ramjack serves are poised and ready to take real advantage of Symboticware’s vehicle sensor data telemetry and analytics solutions. We are looking forward to the opportunity to demonstrate the rapid returns that this technology can offer to both open-pit and underground mines.”

Symboticware and SafeBox to collaborate on mine safety initiative

Symboticware has announced a partnership with SafeBox to help mining customers safely drive production “during a time where controlling and managing a wide range of hazards is critical for mine safety”.

Symboticware focuses on standardised information-based technology to enhance productivity, sustainability, profitability and safety through real-time data management solutions, while SafeBox is a safety technology company offering, it says, the safest energy isolation solution currently on the market.

SafeBox is an electronic lockout device which safely isolates electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic sources of energy from a single location. It was engineered with the men and women of the industry to provide the safest method to de-energise complex, distributed industrial systems, the company said.

“The control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout) violations has ranked in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s top 10 list in the past 20 years,” Symboticware said. “This partnership will help facilitate a much-needed change, and continue to strengthen the companies’ ability to help customers focus on safety.”

Kirk Petroski, President and CEO of Symboticware, said: “Our customers rely heavily on technology innovations as their safety requirements continue to evolve. This partnership with SafeBox allows us to continue building awareness of important safety solutions for the mining industry.”

Andre Dumas, GM at Ionic Mechatronics, parent company to SafeBox, said: “Leveraging the location of their Tucson-based headquarters, our partnership will help introduce SafeBox to the southwest US and Mexico.

“Symboticware understands technology and all the intricacies of linking the right technology to an industrial challenge. We are hopeful that the mining community in the region will understand the role that SafeBox can play in their organisation and the value that Symboticware will bring to its implementation.”

Uptake, Symboticware to provide miners with predictive maintenance solution

Uptake says it has partnered with Symboticware to provide mining companies with an end-to-end, integrated artificial intelligence (AI) and data science solution to increase the productivity of mobile mining equipment.

The joint solution combines Symboticware’s SymBot® device, which provides data capture from mining fleets, and Uptake’s Asset Performance Management (APM) software, Asset IO, which applies AI to surface predictive insights from the data.

The combination of the two, according to Uptake, arms users with:

  • Data-driven cost reductions: For an average medium-sized mining site, Asset IO can save as much as $2.5 million/y in haul truck maintenance, fuel and tyre costs alone. Additionally, operator and fleet productivity is optimised with the help of benchmarking and informed decision-making;
  • Actionable insights for continuous improvement: Asset IO quickly turns data into actionable, AI-driven insights. The software deploys AI models that are pre-trained to drive greater performance, reliability and availability of the mobile mining fleet; and
  • Greater visibility into assets: collect data from sensors, store time-stamped values in an internal database and seamlessly transmit data for AI analysis.

Ash Agarwal, Director of Mining at Uptake, said: “Optimal machine health and performance is critical to getting the most out of investments in equipment, and to achieving a high return on capital employed. Performing regular maintenance on haul trucks can be labour- and time-intensive, with the added cost of unplanned downtime having a significant impact on throughput and operating expenses.

“This integrated solution provides the best of industrial IoT and AI to reduce downtime, minimise operating expenses and aid in the development of a comprehensive maintenance program.”

Kirk Petroski, President and CEO of Symboticware, said industrial data is only as good as the insights that can be gleaned from it. “This solution delivers predictive insights that are both accurate and actionable, providing users with sufficient lead time into maintenance issues so they can be ahead of the curve. That ability to proactively mitigate maintenance problems yields a proven, measurable increase in productivity,” he said.
