Track’em upbeat about materials tracking contract prospects

Track’em, a leader in cloud-based tracking solutions in construction, mining and oil and gas, says it is on a trajectory of solid growth, bolstering its active users on its platforms by more than 50% since the start of 2020.

This increase comes despite the situation that has evolved around COVID-19.

Track’em said: “While there is a constant focus on guarding budgets during this period, the company’s key operating metrics are showing strong results.”

Recent customer success and uptake of the latest release of its Materials Tracking platform are the driving forces behind this performance, according to the company.

The platform allows customers to manage materials and their logistics across the supply chain, according to the Perth-based company, providing project-wide visibility of construction materials and parts and digitising critical material handling processes. Designed specifically for large construction, mining, oil and gas projects, the Materials Tracking platform increases productivity and decreases project delays, Track’em claims.

These factors have seen the number of active users on Track’em’s platforms grow by 62% since the beginning of 2020, with transactions running through the software growing by 667% in 2019 alone.

Kashif Saleem, Founder and CEO of Track’em, said 2020 had taken a turn that no-one could have expected.

“With the COVID-19 outbreak, industries and countries have been turned upside down and pulled out of their normal routines,” he said. “While I regret to see so many companies struggle, Track’em is on a trajectory of growth. We have just released a new version of our Materials Tracking solution and our pipeline is looking healthy, with many new contracts already signed this year.”

This includes the company’s most recent mining-related contract with engineering firm Primero and an agreement with Mondium to track materials for construction work on large expansion projects in the resource sector in Western Australia.

Saleem continued: “While concerned about the global situation, I’m confident that we will collectively get through this and that it will bring everyone closer together. All our staff are working from home and we have put all the systems and tools in place to make sure we can continue to assist our clients in delivering capital intensive projects in the construction and resource industries on schedule.”

Primero looks to Track’em for materials inventory solution on WA iron ore expansion project

Primero, following the signing of a contract with Track’em, is to use the Material Tracking solution to increase visibility and control of its materials for construction works on a major iron ore expansion project in Western Australia.

Track’em provides a central, cloud-based solution for tracking materials across the supply chain, according to its owner. By using the system, Primero and its project partners will be able to manage, monitor, update and report on materials in real time from any location, it said.

Track’em provides stakeholders with an integrated system that gives continuous visibility on the location, status, condition and custody of materials. The Track’em app will further enable users to quickly locate, scan and update parts and components, while digitising form-based processes such as inspections and transfer documents, according to the company.

While no specific iron ore expansion project was mentioned by either Primero or Track’em in the release, Primero is currently working on both the South Flank and Koodaideri iron ore projects for BHP and Rio Tinto, respectively, in addition to the expansion of the Robe Valley iron ore operations, owned jointly by Rio, Mitsui and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal.

Track’em looks to drive further material tracking efficiencies in mining

Track’em Pty has released the latest version of its Materials Tracking platform, taking on board years of “best practices from successful roll-outs in the field”, Kashif Saleem, founder and CEO, says.

Saleem explained: “Materials generally account for at least 50% of construction project costs. Yet, often there is no central materials tracking system that allows asset owners, construction companies, EPCs, suppliers and contractors to work collaboratively ensuring the right materials are at the right location at the right time at the right quantity and quality. Our platform has evolved tremendously over time and is now used by more departments within our clients including procurement, logistics and expediting.”

The Track’em Materials mobile apps empower users in the field to quickly locate and identify items and digitise paper processes, it said. The browser-based desktop version allows for advanced material control processing, dashboards and reporting.

“The platform is built entirely on Microsoft Azure, guaranteeing scalability on a trusted environment that is backed by industry certifications for security and compliance,” the company said.

Track’em’s Project Manager, Matt Ward, says the company has listened to customer feedback and applied knowledge from its internal industry experts to create this update.

“Many stakeholders are involved as materials get requested, fabricated, transported, installed, inspected and maintained,” he said. “Track’em Materials is centred around process optimisation and quality assurance during this lifecycle, giving customers continuous insight into the location, status and custodian of all their materials.

“Additionally, we are hardware agnostic, meaning we integrate with any IoT tracking identification technology such as barcodes, RFID, GPS, Bluetooth, etc. This enables clients to have complete visibility and control.”

Mark McIntyre, Global VP of Sales, said customers using the Materials Tracking platform have experienced significant time and costs savings by avoiding wasted time and money looking for and reordering misplaced components.

Monadelphous signs up Track’em for construction material management

A leader in cloud-based tracking technology in the resource sector says it has been selected by engineering company Monadelphous Group to track its construction materials across some of its major mining and mineral projects.

Track’em will assist Monadelphous by giving it continuous visibility and control over construction materials required for the delivery of specific projects, the Australia-based tech firm said.
